Hello! I’m Aziz Shakhzodov, a passionate multi-disciplinary professional with a background in science, art, business, and marketing. Based in Nova Scotia, Canada, I developed a curiosity for the world around me from a young age, which has driven me to explore a wide variety of fields throughout my life.
After moving to Canada, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Dalhousie University. My love for understanding life in all its forms fuels everything I do, from scientific research to creative expression.
My academic background in biology is just the beginning of my scientific curiosity. I’m drawn to the intricacies of the natural world, and I’ve been fortunate to work on various research projects, including one on the physiology and behavior of ticks infected with Bartonella spp. This research, published on ResearchGate, involved DNA extraction, PCR, and other advanced techniques to better understand these organisms’ responses to environmental factors.
I also had the opportunity to collaborate with Dr. Ferhan Siddiqi on his research into Acute Kidney Injury, where I was hands-on with cutting-edge techniques like qPCR, reverse transcription, and fluorescence in situ hybridization. My ongoing exploration of biology, mathematics, engineering, and computer science keeps my mind engaged, and I share many of these ideas in the “Science” section of my blog.
Business
My curiosity has also led me into the business world, where I enjoy finding innovative solutions to complex challenges. During the pandemic, I developed an app to help restaurant and café owners in busy student towns manage study space bookings, enabling students to follow social distancing guidelines. Marketing and Public Relations
My interest in problem-solving extends into marketing and PR, where I’ve had the pleasure of working with Nadernejad Media Inc. Initially brought on as a contractor while I was a Financial Advisor at one of Canada’s big five banks, I quickly transitioned to Director of Operations full-time. At Nadernejad Media, I contributed to workflow optimizations that led to significant cost savings, while working with high-profile clients, including multi-billion-dollar companies. It was such a fulfilling experience that I decided to leave banking to pursue this role full-time

Art and Photography
Art has been a central part of my life ever since I can remember. I started drawing and painting when I was just three years old, and I continue to pour my heart into every piece I create. My journey into the arts expanded into the world of modeling when I was scouted by NUMA, a modeling agency in Canada. This led to opportunities to model for brands like Brooklyn Circus in San Francisco, where I collaborated with talented models from around the world.
